What is your assignment?
Klaas Puul has developed and grown into one of Europe’s market leaders in fresh and frozen shrimp. To maintain this prominent position, Klaas Puul is strengthening their business in the UK & Ireland.

Together with your colleague in the UK and the team in the Netherlands, you will attune sales & marketing and the product range to the local market and consumer.

How do you achieve this?
In this challenging and entrepreneurial role, you will be responsible for growing Klaas Puul’s commercial results for both the fresh and frozen concepts. A practical introductory period in the Netherlands and Belgium, among other places, will familiarise you with the company, its unique production and distribution process, and the international sales team. With your knowledge and experience of the food sector, you will help Klaas Puul to understand the British and Irish markets more fully. You will proactively anticipate and respond to trends, developments and needs in the different market segments. In addition, you will translate these into a specific plan of approach.

Together with your colleague in the UK and the team in the Netherlands your focus is on product development in the market. You will have daily contact with potential customers, including food retailers, food wholesalers, food service companies, catering firms and the industrial processors. Your discussion partners will frequently be purchasers and category managers. You will be working from a home office and will report to the Sales Manager UK & Ireland, based in the UK.

What will you bring to the table?

  • New business sales, commercially driven and determined Commercial experience in selling food concepts (fresh / frozen) at head office level in any of the following sectors: retail, foodservice wholesalers / endusers or food manufacturing within the UK & Ireland Experience of shelf presentation and packaging concepts would be a strong advantage Strong communication skills at all levels Commercial track record in the British food sector, branded / private label An affinity with Klaas Puul’s business and product range (a variety of shrimp) UK resident, preferably living in the Midlands; a full UK driver’s license is required
