Area Sales Manager – Hose & Couplings

Guyson International Limited is a privately owned family company with a world-wide reputation for excellence. Our Hose and Couplings Division offers a comprehensive range of quick-release couplings and flexible hose assemblies to handle most industrial, process and hygienic liquids and gases. Our specialist team offers unrivalled expertise in the specification and selection of suitable hose and couplings for customers' applications.

As Area Sales Manager reporting to our Executive Director, your key responsibility will be to personally manage, promote and grow profitable sales of the Division’s products across the territory to both existing and prospective customers. Our products are sold predominantly to the chemical, pharmaceutical, nuclear, food, brewing, dairy, aerospace, MOD, steel and oil/gas sectors, in addition to other general manufacturing industries. Other key accountabilities as Area Sales Manager include:

  • balancing your time effectively between visiting existing customers whilst continuously targeting new prospects in order to meet or exceed targets
  • communicating effectively and working with our internal sales engineers to ensure accurate quotations and technical information are promptly provided to customers
  • working as part of a sales team, offering support to colleagues when required.

Based in Yorkshire, you must have a proven technical field sales track record, ideally in flexible hose and couplings or other fluid handling products, underpinned by a robust understanding of fluid handling applications. A mechanical engineering qualification or background would be advantageous and your knowledge of our target sectors will be key to success in the role. An excellent all-round communicator and negotiator at all levels, with strong face-to-face selling skills, you’re also able to assess and accurately record and report customers’ technical and commercial requirements.
