Job Details

My client is one of the largest food manufacturing businesses in the UK who have a number of very successful accounts with the Top 4 grocers. We are now looking for a Marketing Assistant to join the business to work within the Category Management function. Reporting to the Customer Marketing Controller, you will build close working relationships with the Sales and Marketing teams as well as with your key customer contacts.

This role would be ideal for an ambitious individual who is looking to begin a successful career within FMCG and Category Management. Full training and support will be provided and all you need in return is a willingness to learn and grow within that environment and make FMCG your career. It’s your own attitude that will determine your success.

The Role:

  • To provide Marketing and Category support to the Customer Marketing Manager and Category Manager.
  • Support your account with information and ad hoc requests.
  • Assist in the preparation of category reviews.
  • Monitor Category performance within your retailer account by using available data sources.
  • Track retailer promotion and monitor category promotional shares.
  • Assist with consumer research.
  • Support Category projects.
  • Manage agency relationships with Kantar, Nielsen and other data providers.
  • Ensure deadlines are met.

The Person:

  • Educated to degree level and an open attitude to learning and development. If you have spent a year out working within industry, this would be an advantage although not a pre-requisite.
  • An analytical approach and an ability to interpret data and draw observations from it.
  • A good level of numeracy and able to use spreadsheets, especially Excel.
  • IT literate.
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent presentation skills and comfortable presenting to an audience.
  • Good time management and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills where you can build good relationships with people easily and with confidence.
  • Enthusiastic and passionate with a positive approach to your work.
  • Some travel will be required.
