Job Details
My client is a highly successful branded and private-label ambient product manufacturer, seeking an experienced Customer Development Manager with a strong financial / economic background, that ideally has experience in the Food or Drink Industry. An ideal candidate will have strong frinancial experience as well as a commercial understanding in this somewhat 'hybrid' role; looking at budgets, margin, strategies, route to market, and finances; along with customer face-to-face exposure.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in a continuously expanding business. This is an office based position with infrequent travel to major retail customers.
The Role:
- Work closely with Supply Chain / NPD and Commercial team
- Supporting fundamental future business decisions
- Assist in the production of business plans
- Assisting with driving sales strategy
- Business partner with the Chief Commercial Officer
- Analyse high volumes of financial information in relation to costings / Sales reporting / Margin impact and category pricing and data
- Report information to the Chief Commercial Officer and the Commercial team
- Support the Marketing and NPD functions where required
- Assess and review variances against Sales, Trade Marketing and Marketing budgets
- Be a key member of the team in relation to Budgeting and forecasting for financial and supply chain requirements
- The role requires a high level of responsibility
- A requirement to use Advanced Excel skills to slice and dice management information to provide new insights on the key drivers of the company
- Building relationships and facilitating cross departmental projects
- Managing one’s time to develop relationships with assigned clients
- Investigate new business opportunities and talk to potential new customers
- Develop relationships and nurture assigned customers
- Use the companies support network to assist in optimising sales
- Work closely with Supply Chain / Commercial team
- Improve Company market position
- Achieve financial growth
- Define with the CCO long term Company goals
- Builds key customer relationships
- Identifies business opportunities
The Candidate:
- Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills
- Good negotiation and explanation skills
- Relevant accounting / mathematics competency
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent PC skills, MS Office are essential in particular excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience of working to tight deadlines and making own decisions to manage tasks
- A good team player that is flexible to help with department and company needs
- Willingness to question
- Desire to always move forward both personally and professionally
- Understanding of food manufacturing would be preferential
