Due to continued growth my client is in a position to add a Key Account Manager to their growing sales team. The company are well established in the Horticultural industry and have shown great profitability numbers over the past couple of years.

The role will be based around the Garden Centre Group’s and you will inherit a portfolio of accounts that will include the likes of Blue Diamond, Nottcutts, Tillington, Hilliers and Squires.  The role is multi-faceted and will include project management, coordination, decisive planning, managing relations and negotiations, leadership, and innovative development of opportunities. The KAM should be able to give advice to customers regarding product options, maintain knowledge of new and existing products, as well as report competitor activities and ranges.The KAM will work to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, identify opportunities to up-sell, organize and lead periodical account reviews.

You will need to be able to effectively communicate with all departments to resolve customer issues. The KAM will need to have lightning credibility, immediate likeability and professionalism, with a real can do attitude, with an approachable up to date business attitude.  Ensuring the sales revenue and margin targets are achieved in line with the overall Retail Sales & Marketing business plan.  

Requirements of the role:

  • Must have Account Management experience.
  • Experience of managing multiple accounts at head office level.
  • Experience selling into Garden Centre’s is a must.
  • Highly analytical
  • Good understanding of the retail buying and distribution process
