Foodservice Senior Buyer
The Company
Our client are a Yorkshire based foodservice business across chilled, frozen and ambient. Our client work with over 100 suppliers, including household brand names as well local businesses in order to provide their growing customer base with the products and excellent customer service that our client are renowned for.
The Role
The role of Senior Buyer is a vital position within the business. You will be experienced within the foodservice industry, building relationships with a number of key suppliers.
You will need to be able to manage a small team of buyers to manage and maintain a 3000 strong range of products.
Main responsibilities will include:-
- Negotiate prices, terms and quality requirements
- Engaging in ongoing cost reducing exercises
- Manage Supply Chain
- Managing procurement team
- Package & conduct tenders and benchmarking exercises
- Maintain commercial terms and conditions, service levels and supply agreements
- Develop promotional plan
- Develop product catalogues and price files
- Manage range, including sourcing innovative menu solutions
- Maintain and develop a pricing structure, including customer contract pricing.
- Work with suppliers to organise annual exhibitions, demonstrations etc
The Candidate
You should also possess the following skills and experience:
- Strong track record of purchasing within the foodservice industry
- Experience of managing a procurement department
- Track record for delivering sustainable and consistent cost saving projects
- Able to demonstrate and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Flexibility in influencing skills/styles at all levels of the business
- Advanced analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
