My client is part of the commercial arm of one of the world’s largest companies and is one of the market leaders in the soft and hot drinks categories. Whilst it operates in 60 countries globally, this company isn’t just another corporate giant where employees are no more than little cogs in a big machine. Big, though it may be, this company believes in promoting a healthy work-life balance and instilling a friendly and open work culture. Now, they are looking for two Category Managers to manage their Grocery and Convenience customers.

 

Your main responsibilities in the role will be:

 

-          Proactive engagement to be their number one choice for objective category management and be recognised as a valuable business partner;

-          Develop, present and implement customer category plan to highlight short and long term category growth opportunities in line with company brand and commercial strategies. Plans should provide mutual benefits for organisation and customers

-          Provision of regular category performance updates, insights & recommendations

-          Provision of ‘fair’ range and merchandise recommendations based on objective category & shopper insight.

-          Promotion review, feedback & recommendations.

-          Identifying opportunities for, and driving, growth of our brands through distribution, space, fixture layout, visibility and promotion recommendations.

-          Ongoing evaluation of promotions making recommendation for optimisation of company promotion plans.

-          Regular dialogue with internal account manager sharing category knowledge and ensuring they understand current category and brand dynamics.

-          Ad hoc category projects

 

 

To be successful in this role, you will have at least 3 years’ category management and shopper/trade marketing experience. Naturally, you will be highly analytical and be able to forge tight relationships quickly. You will have completed full range reviews with leading customers/retailers and will combine a curious approach with the ability to develop strategic category plans.
