Global Brand Manager - ATOM Brands (Bathtub Gin, Boutique-y Whisky Co, and more)

Salary band: £50-60k plus share option scheme
Reporting to: Sales & NPD Director

An opportunity to develop the brand management team, and lead the global conversation around our stable of multi-award-winning brands including Bathtub Gin (Ableforth’s), That Boutique-y Whisky Co, The Whisky Advent Calendar, The Blended Whisky Co, Origin Single Botanical Gin, The Handmade Cocktail Co, 1897 Quinine Gin and Darkness!.

Suited to an ambitious high-performer looking to shape a rapidly growing business at the highest level and to build a high-performing brand management function almost from scratch.


About Us
Atom Brands is the product development and manufacturing business unit within ATOM Group which also includes Maverick Drinks (distribution) and Master of Malt (online retail).

In the last 5 years, our brands have won dozens of global awards (World’s Best - Blended Whisky, Blended Malt, Grain Whisky, Liqueur, Compound Gin, Spiced Rum & Pre-mixed Cocktail - many on multiple occasions) regularly triumphing in blind tastings against some of the world’s largest and longest-established products. This speaks to our no-compromise approach to creation and crafting. We make the best - we don’t work backwards from price-points or seek to ‘fill gaps’.

We are growing at an astronomical rate. Hundreds of percent year-on-year, and that growth is still accelerating. We’re in the process of a global roll-out programme, and our brands are about to hit the US market.


About the role
This is a brand new role. We’re looking for a visionary with the ability not only to take on the (significant) activity that’s in progress, but to create a roadmap for the development of each brand, and to manage the onboarding of a global team of brand ambassadors (as dictated by pre-agreed A&P budgets).


Main purpose of the role:

  • To direct a team of brand ambassadors both within the UK (we currently have 2 for the Ableforth’s Brand) and globally.
  • To develop, implement and quantify return on a range of consumer and trade education and marketing strategies.
  • To manage the global A&P budgets for all of our brands and ensure the most effective deployment thereof.

About you
You are an experienced brand manager, having spent the last few years driving growth within [a] well-known spirits brand[s], but you’re tired of merely driving good-to-excellent growth, and keen to board a rocket-ship.

You know the UK market inside-out, but you’re also well-versed in the common pitfalls associated with the most lucrative global spirits markets.

You have extensive experience of managing and recruiting teams of brand ambassadors both in the UK, and globally, and are familiar with the challenges associated with managing creative people remotely.

You have excellent ideas about brand development and marketing strategies, sure, but you also have the experience of what works, in what market, in what context, and what just looked like a great idea on paper.

You are highly intelligent, personable, eloquent, and able to inspire others to achieve your aims and objectives with enviable ease.
