National Account Manager / Senior NAM – Consumer / Children’s Electronics.

£36,259 - £54,897 Basic plus Bonus, Fully Expensed Car or Car Allowance + Benefits

Our Client is an expanding business, producing a diverse range of consumer electronics products. The range encompasses Consumer Electronics for both children and adults alike. Exposure to a children’s category would be an advantage. This could be any childrens’s category, not just Consumer Electronics.

They are looking for a talented and ambitious individual to take on the management of a number of strategic National Accounts. The precise account mix is yet to be decided, and will depend to a degree on the successful candidate's experience, and previous account exposure - however the accounts to be managed will include a combination of some of the company’s top accounts, namely – Argos, Tesco, Currys, Smyths, ASDA, Toys ‘ R ‘ Us, The Entertainer , Maplins, John Lewis, Shop Direct, Sainsbury’s and Amazon  - Candidates should have had exposure to at least one of these accounts, and should have managed a portfolio of sufficient significance for the retailer to have considered them a key supplier. Our Client is therefore looking for a seasoned NAM, somebody who knows the ropes, and who can operate commercially and strategically with the retailers in question – they will need an intricate understanding of P & L mechanics, pricing, promotions, over rides, clearance discount support, and originating the account business plans etc, and will probably have been used to dealing with senior buyers and possibly directors – as opposed to being just the sales contact that services the account.

Our Client is also keen for candidates to have an understanding of how the retailers communicate their online message / presence to their customers, so a basic / passing knowledge of things like search engine optimisation, websites, social media etc would be a useful thing to have.

It is important that candidates have experience of managing complex / fast moving accounts with experience of managing an account with more than one buyer and ideally used to working with contacts with some more senior people within the buying team, such as buying managers, buying controllers, heads of buying, buying directors as well as just the buyers.

Candidates can be from any non food category, although clearly candidates with experience of Consumer Electronics or related categories will be ideal. Exposure to a children’s category would be a bonus.

Location – The role can be home based although the jobholder will need to be in our Client’s Head Office London at least 2 days per week. There will also be considerable travel nationally plus occasional trips to head office in Turkey ( possibly once or twice a year )

To be considered for this exciting role you should live in the south east, no further north than South Mimms and no further west than Newbury.

Remuneration - £36,259 -54,897 basic plus bonus plus car allowance.

Please note that by responding to this advert you are giving permission to Houghton McKenzie Ltd to communicate with you about this role and any other roles we may handle that could be of interest to you.

DUE TO ANTICIPATED RESPONSE LEVELS WE SHALL ONLY BE ABLE TO CONTACT SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS. IF YOU DO NOT HEAR FROM US YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE DEEMED UNSUCCESSFUL ON THIS OCCASION.
