Deputy Retail Manager          

Full time, permanent (5 days out of 7, including weekends and shifts)

We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and experienced Deputy Retail Manager to work with the Retail Manager and deputise in their absence.

The retail department at Brunel University London is part of the university’s Commercial Services directorate which is dedicated to providing high service standards, value and customer satisfaction to all. It currently operates 2 retail outlets with up to 24 staff managing a turnover of over £3million per annum.

The successful candidate will be required to motivate and lead a team of retail staff ensuring the retail operation is profitable and efficiently run. Assisting the Retail manager in the day-to-day management of the retail outlets, focussing on high service standards, lean operations management and sustainable growth.

You will be customer focused and provide the highest levels of service, whilst delivering operational excellence and good financial performance for the Retail department.  You will have previous experience of managing a team, with a proven track record of consistently delivering operational excellence.  You will also have an understanding of budgets and retail KPIs and the ability to assist in working to deliver and improve them. You will have a good knowledge of health and safety, and the legislative responsibilities in retail alongside the skills to assist with managing those responsibilities.  The ability to develop a team of staff whilst inspiring and motivating them to deliver results and a good knowledge of EPOS stock management system and strong marketing and merchandising skills is also essential.

The role will require the post holder to work weekends and shifts.
