This role will play a key role in delivering against this purpose with primary responsibility for leading the Commercial
Insights Agenda across our UK & West Europe Snacks Business (Walkers, Lays, Cheetos, Sunbites, Doritos etc)

The Insights team is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team at PepsiCo and influences across the end to end enterprise The role will act as a trusted/ indispensable business partner/ thought leader to a number of senior commercial stakeholders;
  • integrating the breadth of consumer, shopper, customer and analytic insights/ trends across markets
  • driving clarity on growth issues opportunities
  • co-leading growth strategies and solutions
  • relentlessly pursuing decisions and advocating for the best action(s) that maximize PepsiCo and our key Customers growth and odds of success.


Accountabilities:

Lead the delivery of a proactive & impactful insights & analytics agenda and build a High Performing Team that;
  • Ensure Senior Management has clarity on external trends, performance and drivers (UK and WE) (execute, consult)
  • Lead Situation Assessment, identifying category and portfolio growth issues and opportunities (execute, decide)
  • Partner to translate insights into WE sector Strategic Business plans that drive PepsiCo and Customer growth (execute)
  • Provide fact-based insights into competitor strategies, sales decomposition, and anticipated future initiatives
  • Strongly inform and influence UK Snacks AOP Planning (consult)
  • Build advantaged insights which increase our influence with key customers; build partnerships with priority customers on mutual strategic subjects (execute, decide)
  • Leverage Market and Shopper Analytics to drive holistic performance reviews and performance tear downs (PPD) with a focus on forward looking solutions (execute)
  • Lead Growth Drivers Modelling to maximize Return of all Snacks marketplace Investments (Media/Promotions/In-Store) (execute, consult)
  • Commission high quality primary shopper research to support the building of growth plans to unlock Demand in partnership with key customers (execute)
  • Manage data overheads and agency SLAs to drive ever increasing ROI from our insight investments (execute, decide)


Leadership:
  • Provide high quality line management and development to 4 direct reports and 3 indirects, aiming to constantly unlock potential and raise the talent bench.
  • Lead the Research agenda across all PepsiCo categories/channels; manage matrix relationships effectively.
  • Persuasively influence senior leaders in sales, commercial, marketing, category, finance and GM's - establish rapport, credibility and trust - become a trusted and indispensable partner
  • Manage a wide range of stakeholders with differing requirements and agendas, both in UK and WE roles.
  • Intelligently balance the art and science of quantitative/qualitative insights to uncover the best possible version of the truth.
  • Relentlessly work to surface the truth to improve business decision making in all places; communicate with courage and candour.
  • Play a key and proactive role in the PepsiCo Insights Transformation journey, collaborating across boundaries to drive Next Gen capability and business impact


Key skills and experience required:
  • Mastery of Analytics Competencies - excellent grasp of key methodologies and tools
  • Can synthesize and integrate large and complex data sets into simple, compelling stories
  • Experience of commissioning or delivering ad hoc primary in-store research projects
  • Strong commercial acumen - has been in a selling role or partnering with sales people
  • Good grasp on UK FMCG market dynamics and particularly retail practices
  • Can build a high performing, highly motivated team which includes technical experts
  • Familiarity with multi-country data sets/requirements is beneficial
