Sales Director - SME - Brand/Private Label- Trading business- London - up to £100k basic

“My client is an innovative SME food manufacturing business with an exciting product range. Already established in foodservice and retailers, they are looking to continue to grow strategically within these sectors.

This role is a senior management position that will involve sourcing and selling a range of imported products into major customers with an element of the role focused on the management of their sales and marketing team and strategic planning for the business.

The business sells brand and own-label products and are looking for someone with a strong food industry background and who understands their trading model. This is a new position for the business, so it requires someone who is hungry and eager to make a difference”

The Role

• Report to and liaise with the Managing Director on the week’s activities, past, present and future.
• Proactively increasing sales to new and established customers to meet and if possible exceed sales targets.
• Man management of sales team.
• Increasing sales into accounts with Brakes/Bidvest and other large food distributors/contract caterers.
• The role will involve trading and sourcing products globally.

The Candidate

• The successful applicant will have managed and developed strong contacts within foodservice sector.
• Strong trading and sourcing knowledge is a must.  
• Experience handling Brakes/Bidvest and other large distributors will be advantageous.
• Man management experience required.
• Worked with branded and private label products.
• Entrepreneurial mind-set.
• Strong negotiator and commercially aware.
• Experience working with an SME.

What’s on Offer

• Monday to Friday.
• Office based and customer visits.
•  £85,000-£100,000 basic + car allowance + bonus package + benefits.
