The role

One of the most prominent FMCG companies in the world is looking for a shopper marketing manager to cover maternity leave in one of its divisions. The role will be an operationally based shopper marketing role that will cover all aspects of the shopper marketing portfolio and will be tasked with delivering a range of activity.

You will be working in a multi- disciplinary team that deals with a range of category, shopper and trade activity who work with both on trade and off trade clients. They have a varied product range which is instantly recognisable and have a complex calendar of activation and shopper marketing activity that needs to be managed.

You will be tasked with liaising with the marketing and sales team providing them with data and recommendations to help shoppers make decisions at the point of purchase. There is an ongoing marketing push that ties in a lot work that the organisation is doing to help drive the sales numbers.

There will be also work around the digital activation piece and you will be working with the digital team to provide a seamless flow between offline and online activity. You will also be managing an executive that will help you deliver this vision.

The person

To be successful in this role it is essential that you have the following skills:
  • Excellent operational shopper marketing experience from a large blue chip FMCG
  • Strong experience of dealing with a myriad of stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical skills and the previous experience of the major insight databases
  • A background in trade and category marketing alongside shopper marketing would be useful
  • A curious and creative way of working would be a great advantage
  • Experience of working with major grocery chains is essential
  • The ability to 'hit the ground running' is key
