Castle Dairies Ltd is a Welsh family business and one of the UK’s largest own label butter packing suppliers.  We are also an innovative business having introduced The Softer Butter Co. and Welsh Spreadables into the market over the last 12 months.

Due to continued growth of the business, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a National Account Manager to join our team.  This role will suit either a National Account Executive that is looking to step up in to National Account Management that has already worked previously with a top 4 retailer or an existing National Account Manager.

The Role

  • To be the leading Castle Dairies Sales contact, managing the growth and commercial delivery of the Own Label butter business and company brands.  Holding full P&L responsibility and promoting effective cross-functional business relationships at all levels and with external customers.
  • You will develop 2-3 year Strategic business plan which will cover both own label and branded business development.  This plan will identify key KPI’s for each of the categories.
  • You will create and deliver joint business plans with customers.  These plans will include marketing and promotion plans and look to deliver KPI’s to agreed budget levels across the total portfolio.
  • Responsible for identifying future opportunities, then developing and implementing initiatives that improve the overall commercial performance of the Castle Dairies portfolio.
  • In addition to your sales responsibilities, you will also influence the NPD process and the marketing of the Company and its brands.  This is a key position within the business.
  • This role is field based, with several days a month at our Head Offices in Caerphilly.

Principle Accountabilities

  • To build, implement and deliver budgets and customer plans that meet the strategic objectives of the sales & brand marketing functions and also those of the customer.
  • Provide highest account service level (internally & externally), through accurate forecasting and timely administration of promotions, product changes. You will also closely monitor sales.
  • To develop and build long-lasting relationships within customers to the benefit of Castle Dairies Ltd business interests. (i.e. category, manufacturing, technical and supply chain).
  • To identify and develop new sales opportunities.
  • Develop and overlay shopper marketing and brand plans in your account.

You:

  • Already a successful National Account Executive/ National Account Manager/Controller with a classic FMCG background with proven success in Top 4 multiples. If you are from a NAE background, you will have to demonstrate clear leadership, strategic and relationship building qualities.
  • Strong financial/commercial understanding with ability to interpret and manage P&L.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Able to interpret and utilise market information.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills that really drive sales.
  • A mixture of own label and branded experience would be preferable.
  • Experience of delivering NPD and New Brands to market would be preferable.
