Job Description

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Category Manager at our Peterborough site.

The role of the Category Manager will be to lead and develop the category plans for Hain Daniels chilled soup business. You will be responsible for the category marketing development of chilled soup with our key retail customers. You will also support the Marketing Manager  in driving a branded agenda.  

You will be responsible for supporting the Marketing Manager in the development of 3 year strategic plans, by providing relevant category insights. Also understand the customer’s strategic agenda and make recommendations that fit their agenda and push the Hain Daniels business forward.

You will also work with Sales, NPD and Innovation teams to create new opportunities for the brands and own label across channels, geographies and categories.  

To be a great candidate for this role, you will clearly understand the categories and the key value levers and proposes marketing tools that pull the right levers and drive value sales, and be confident to presents plans to Sales, Board, NPD, Operations, Supply Chain to gain Company wide acceptance.

We would expect the right candidate to have the below experience: 

• 3 years within FMCG
• Category Management Experience
• Persuasive. Knows how to present the right arguments to the right people
• Externally focused and attuned with what’s going on with brands, retailers and food trends.  Thinks consumer, thinks customer
• Analytic: familiar with relevant data sources and able to interpret data to a high standard
• Commercial understandings to ensure opportunities are right for the business
