Our client is a progressive and well-invested, privately owned £200m added-value chilled foods business with a clear strategy for investment and future growth. The business is a multi-site operation producing a range of quality own-label and branded “Food to Go” products across a customer base that includes some of the major Grocery, Convenience, Foodservice, Retail Coffee Shops and Travel sector accounts in the UK.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Commercial Manager will have P&L responsibility for managing one of the company’s largest and fastest-growing Retail Coffee Chop customers and an important strategic partner. With a broad remit, the role is high profile and will require the job holder to lead strategic projects, manage a cross-functional team to develop real innovation and NPD and ultimately to influence the business agenda at all management levels to drive creative category initiatives and joint customer business plans.

For this position we are looking for someone with previous NAM/SNAM level experience within a recognised own-label added value FMCG food business and ideally having previously managed a Top 4 Grocery Retail Multiple account. Chilled foods or short shelf-life experience would also be a distinct advantage but not essential. Furthermore, you will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the NPD project management process, from concept to launch, and a detailed understanding of working within a JBP led, category driven customer partnership. Above all, you are motivated by food development and are a highly ambitious, driven individual with a personal style that enables you to build strong relationships both internally and externally.

The role is based at the company’s Milton Keynes site and ideally candidates should live within a reasonable daily commute distance.
