Marketing Manager for FMCG Social Enterprise

Ambitious Social Enterprise, Multiple Brands, B2C & B2B via retailers and distributors seeks superstar business developer.

Are you a sales superstar with a desire to apply your marketing expertise to a critical role in a fast growing Social Enterprise selling....SOAP (we promise soap is more interesting than it sounds!)

About the Organisation:

CLARITY with its three brands, CLARITY products, its newest brand, ‘The Soap Co.’ and its smaller brand, ‘The Soap Co. Keswick’ is unique, and as you are likely to excel in social media, we would like you to do some research as our words can’t (yet) do it justice. We have helped 1000s of people with disabilities through employment and training since 1854 and get an idea for what is to come in 2017 as we take sales and social value to the next level.

CLARITY works with a range of businesses including corporates, retailers, restaurants and hotels, supplying quality products with a proven social impact. We have a factory in East London and a workshop in Keswick, crafting our three brands, The Soap Co and CLARITY Products and The Soap Co Keswick, alongside white labelled, co-created and contract manufactured products.

Purpose of the Role:

To plan, implement and manage highly effective integrated marketing campaigns and activities within a defined budget, and to lead, develop and manage the team members involved in marketing activities. Good marketing enables us to strengthen our brands in order to support the organisation’s strategic objectives, particularly profitable revenue generation and growth which enables employment and hence social value to our 100+ staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, define and strengthen our three brands and ensure compliance of these guidelines across the organisation and third parties.
  • Manage marketing digital channels to ensure seamless campaigns that can be measured and evaluated across Google platforms, social and e-commerce.
  • Plan, develop and budget marketing activities for the 6 months ahead for distributors, retailers, wholesalers and our sales offices.
  • Plan, develop and budget marketing collateral creation i.e. brochures, case studies for in-house production and manage supplier production, including pro-bono supporters.
  • Lead a team of marketing administrator and executives, and potentially other resources such as On Purpose Associates, Civil Service Fast Stream Secondees, experienced volunteers and student volunteers to ensure the team is effective and individuals are developing their professional skills

To be a successful applicant you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Significant experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of the full marketing mix and ability to lead effective marketing campaigns
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, commercial and pragmatic approach
  • Highly self-motivated with drive, enthusiasm and determination
  • Passion for social change and feeling of urgency to act today rather than tomorrow.
  • Proven track record in successful campaigns
  • A keen interest in areas such as sustainability, ethical consumerism and/or inclusive workplaces.
  • Experience in FMCG (or a keen interest to learn)

A bit more about the role and us:

We welcome applicants with and without disabilities and are able to offer individualised working arrangements with flexibility around working hours (part or full time) and working locations (home office, though there will be some travel expectations as part of this role).

The Soap Co. / CLARITY is a great place to work with a young commercial team of ambitious committed people. We are an equal opportunity employer and are determined to ensure that no applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, age, disability, religion, belief, sexual orientation, marital status or race, or is disadvantaged by conditions or requirements which cannot be shown to be justifiable.

We want to hear from you if you can say YES to the following:

  1. Do you have IDEAS to build campaigns for FMCG brands?
  2. Do you have a desire to use your skills for 'good' where your sales will directly lead to SOCIAL value?
  3. Are you a great relationship builder who works tirelessly to exceed objectives?
  4. Do you have a good understanding of all things digital including Google platforms and direct marketing?
  5. ...Did Steve Jobs steal all your ideas?

Detailed Role Description Available Upon Request.

Company

CLARITY is a charity and social enterprise which was established back in 1854 to provide employment for blind, visually impaired and other disabled people. Located in north-east London, it is a medium-sized manufacturer of toiletries and cleaning products. These are sold under their own brands (CLARITY and The Soap Co) or as white label goods for the high street or export. Although The Soap Co brand has existed for 10 years as a local brand based in the Lake District, it is being launched nationally in 2015.
