Job Details

SALES & MARKETING DIRECTOR

Overall Job Purpose: -

  • To take overall responsibility for Sales & Marketing, across the business, in order to promote and grow the market share of all Brands, utilising a range of innovative and highly effective strategies.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, your Key Responsibilities shall be:

  • Develop and implement the company’s short and long term Strategic Sales & Marketing Plans that drive revenue, profitability and brand awareness, throughout specific channels of distribution.
  • Work closely with the Senior Management Team, to improve communication and to evolve the overall Sales & Marketing Brand Strategy.
  • Develop the online Customer Sales & Marketing Strategy to ensure that the Marketing Campaigns drive sales and profitability, in line with marketing plans.
  • Attend and participate in Trade Shows and annual Product Launches, as required.
  • Support, manage & motivate a team of 16 Sales Staff & 13 Marketing Staff.

    Skills/Experience Required: -

  • Graduate calibre with specific Marketing qualifications (CIM, Marketing Degree).
  • Fundamental understanding of brand development and ability to make things happen.
  • Experience of UK & International experience in Consumer and Retail Sales & Marketing, including all aspects of the marketing mix.
  • Commercially astute, with an understanding of P & L’s and Budget management.
  • Demonstrable track record in creating successful Sales & Marketing Strategies and plans, preferably with a significant seasonal element, that delivers considerable, profitable, sales growth.
  • Thorough understanding of trade channels including e-commerce.
  • People management and team leadership skills.
  • Computer Literacy within Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop & Mac applications.

    Desirable: -

  • Level of Sales & Marketing experience in the Outdoor Industry, relevant to the position.
  • Experience of retail buying, product design, product development and sourcing.
  • Excellent understanding of direct and database marketing would be beneficial.
