Purchasing Manager - Healthcare

Senior Buying / Purchasing role with a major retail and wholesale group

You will play a key part in shaping and driving the product offer and building upon their continuing success in a very challenging and competitive marketplace.

Your new role
As a Purchasing Manager, you will contribute within the wider purchasing and distribution team to bring innovative thinking across the supply chain. With responsibility for leading the Buying activities via the definition of supplier strategy, you will play a key role in the creation of a strategic business plan to ensure they achieve financial targets and KPIs for the category. Working in close conjunction with the Supply Chain team, you will also lead negotiations with new and existing suppliers, as well as lead the sourcing and procurement strategy with both domestic and international healthcare and pharmaceutical suppliers.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role you will be a first rate negotiator who has operated at a senior level within an FMCG retail buying or purchasing environment where you will have final sign-off and ultimate responsibility for the full commercial operation. This will have included managing and developing a team of Buyers through first class leadership skills. Furthermore you will be engaging, inspiring and able to build relationships coupled with a customer comes first focus at all times. Ideally some knowledge of the healthcare industry, including Generic Medicines, Parallel Imports or NHS Supply would be advantageous.
