Market-leading food company looking for a Seafood / Fish Sustainability Manager based in the North West


Your new company
A newly created opportunity for a Sustainability Manager with a leading international food and drink group who specialise in sourcing and supplying premium quality branded and own brand products for the retail industry. The Sustainability Manager will play a key role in the development and implementation of the company's sustainability strategy for their seafood (Aquaculture / Fish) product offer.

Your new role
You will be required to work closely with Buying, Marketing, CSR and Technical teams to ensure the business continues to source in an ethical and sustainable way. You will be the company's representative on all sustainability related matters with retailers, industry organisations and associated legislative bodies, and will lead in the development, implementation and monitoring of ethical sourcing processes and procedures via agreed KPIs. You will drive the sustainability action plan and flag up issues, suggesting possible solutions, and nurture relationships with external stakeholders to deliver commercial benefit through the value add of sustainability credentials.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this vacancy you will need to have a proven track record of success in a sustainable sourcing role, ideally aquaculture / seafood / fish related, preferably from within the retail of food supply industry. You will need to possess first class relationship building, communication and influencing skills as you will be in regular dialogue with internal and external stakeholders at many levels. You will also need to demonstrate excellent organisational and planning skills and be a highly analytical problem solver with the ability to work cross functionally in an environment with shifting priorities.

What you'll get in return
In return, the company will offer a competitive salary of c£55,000 dependant on experience and host of other benefits including car allowance, generous holiday entitlement, pension and healthcare in a fast paced, vibrant and forward thinking environment
