Mail Order/Internet/TV Shopping

Gardman are the market-leading garden products supplier, originally founded in 1992, with a turnover of circa £70m and 240 staff. Located in Peterborough, Gardman offers approximately 3,500 SKU’s across their brand portfolio including Cole & Bright Solar Lighting, Moulton Mill tools, Gardman Wild Bird Care and Grow It gardening accessories. In June 2015 Gardman was acquired by Rutland Partners in an all equity transaction. This transaction delivered significant cash investment to ensure the business continues to gain market share by innovating its product offerings, brands and infrastructure.

The Role
We seek an accomplished National Account/Channel Manager to develop the Mail Order/Internet & TV Shopping Channels in the UK. 

Your experience is likely to be within branded Consumer Products, include Category Management experience and show a progressive and achievement based track record in developing both customers and product ranges. This is a team environment but with the autonomy and responsibility for influencing the direction of your National Account customers.

Key Objectives:

  • Proactive development of Mail Order, Internet and TV Shopping accounts in the UK. 
  • Maximise Sales & margin opportunities across an extensive product range
  • Agree Business Account plans with each customer
  • Forecast, budget and track all account sales and expenditure
  • Drive range development with the Category management team   
  • Identify new product development opportunities
  • Plan and implement effective promotional plans 

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Graduate calibre 
  • A proven track record of business development within the UK Mail Order, Internet or TV Shopping channels
  • National Account Management experience within a branded Consumer Products business
  • Experienced in a Category Management sales approach
  • Ability to negotiate and influence at the highest level with strong commercial and analytical skills
  • A strong effective communicator able to influence cross functionally within the company and the customer.
  • Possess strong entrepreneurial spirit
  • Demonstrate ability to develop strong and lasting business relationships with customers
  • A full clean UK Driving licence
  • Strong team player as the role with require extensive cross company liaison
