This is an excellent opportunity to lead the Manufacturing and Production operations within the newest acquired business unit in the DuluxGroup portfolio, which is the vehicle for Growth in the UK and Europe region. Due to their recent acquirement of one of the oldest established paint manufacturers in the UK, they now have a requirement to recruit an Operations Manager who will head up their manufacturing facility in Dunfermline.

Detailed Job Description

  • Managing site assets and facilities, ensuring compliance with government regulations and DuluxGroup standards
  • Managing Health and Safety and ensuring there is a safety culture on site
  • Recommend then implement the agree Operations strategy and ensure development plan for the site aligns to business objectives
  • Ensure that the manufacturing and supply chain systems, assets and people employed are capable of meeting the business requirements
  • Build a team of capable and motivated people through the rigorous implementation of performance management processes with training and development plans
  • Ensure that all staff continue to develop the skills required to ensure that operations performance is 'Best Practice'
  • Ensure systems, processes and staff are in place so that manufacturing (in-house and third party) performance for Dulux meets or exceeds business targets for Customer Service
  • Financial performance, inventory control and quality of process
  • Deliver annual improvement in productivity and unit cost through the application of continuous improvement principles
  • Actively manage the third party logistics partners in warehousing and freight to optimise performance in IFOT whilst optimising cost

Candidate's Profile

The successful Operations Manager will have the following experience;

  • Ability to lead, motivate, influence and develop people
  • 5 Years minimum experience in an Operational Management function
  • Experience of growing and scaling a business, leading production to meet the demands of the customers
  • Leading/Executing Projects, and implementing change within a Production environment
  • Exceptionally high levels of customer and consumer service experience
  • Ensuring safe operation of a manufacturing and production facility
