Job Details
The Buying and Merchandising division of Exsurgo is recruiting a Junior Buyer within the Grocery team for a Global retail company.
As the Junior Buyer within Grocery you will be responsible for supporting the Buyer in formulating and delivering the category plan, including achieving sales and profitability targets, working with and attaining new suppliers and developing the range to meet business requirements.
The Role:
• Help to deliver budgeted gross and net sales, and margin and gross margin
• Identifying new product development opportunities
• Source and purchase merchandise to meet customer needs in terms of choice, price and innovation
• Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the market, supplier base, competitors and changing customer requirements for all products/services within the category
• Working cross functionally with other key areas of the business.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships
• Introduce new suppliers
The Candidate:
• Develop strategic supplier relationships with suppliers
• Work with logistics to ensure quickest possible delivery times
• Preferably food Buying experience
• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
• Ability to Plan, prioritise and focus on key issues.
• Self-starter and able to work to exacting deadlines.
• Strong leadership, decisive and tenacious
• Strong negotiation Skills
• Commercially astute
