HEAD OF OPERATIONS  

Hyperama Wholesale is a multi award winning ambitious FMCG company and a major player in the wholesale market with 4 sites across the Midlands.
Due to business expansion a Head of Operations is needed on a permanent basis.
The Head of Operations will essentially assume responsibility to plan, direct, audit Depot Managers at all locations to ensure day-to-day activities are operating in an effective and efficient manner, whilst adhering to company policies and procedures. This position will provide a broad spectrum of managerial assistance in special projects, administrative procedures and reporting results in assigned areas. 

Position Responsibilities:

•    Reporting to the Managing Director on operational matters
•    Co-ordinating the activities of depot managers with operational responsibility to ensure the company’s operating policies and procedures are maintained. 
•    Supervising the day to day operations to ensure optimum customer service levels and depot standards are maintained. 
•    Ensuring compliance with all legal and statutory requirements on a timely basis such as Health and Safety Regulations.   Ensure all staff adhere to Operations Manual.
•    Developing and enhancing a positive relationship between all staff and management at all locations.
•    Supervising and leading staff engaged at all locations with respect to operations and ensure that staff understand their roles by develop-ing/refining documented procedures and the provision of training, whilst at the same time fostering a team approach to the delivery of services based on customer needs

•    Ensuring a healthy and productive working environment is maintained inclusive of clear direction, identified priorities and shared sense of pur-pose. 
•    Interfaces between Senior Management at all sites on operational issues including sales, marketing, budgetary finance, HR and Health and Safe-ty.
•    Implementing once approved policies and controls to maintain existing operational results and growth.
•    Maintaining and building constructive, effective and professional key customer relationships through effective liaison with Depot Managers.
•    Demonstrating determination in seeking opportunities to improve practices and processed to achieve outcomes more effectively and efficiently.
•    Provide holiday cover for Depot Managers as and when required. 
•    Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required.
•    Sound knowledge of business procedures that requires a hands on management style.

Qualifications/Abilities

•    Relevant qualification or proven experience in an operations management role with a minimum of 5 years store management experience
•    Consistency to utilise innovative solutions to resolve issues and develop effective operating plans. 
•    Broad based knowledge of skills within a retail/wholesale management environment
•    Proven ability to manage/implement projects and contribute to the future development of the business. 
•    Capability of motivating others, dealing with conflict and skilled at coordinating activities of many diverse functions. Together with the ability to sell ideas and communicate with many levels of the organisation. 
•    Ability to work as part of a team, 
•    Extremely methodical with a keen eye for detail.
•    Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
•    Ability to learn new IT skills quickly
•    Confident user of Microsoft word, Excel or equivalent. 
•    Good written and oral communication skills
•    Ability to achieve value for money purchasing/services negotiations. 
•    Able to understand / analyse profit and margin accounts. 
•    UK driving licence essential to travel to all depots.
