National Account Manager
Office Based - Worcestershire

My client are a successful UK manufacturer of leading brands in the DIY and Home Improvement sector. The company is financially strong seeing double digit year on year growth recently and has doubled in size during the last 10 years. Having recently been taken over by a £3 Billion business the company are in a position to add a National Account Manager to their growing sales team. The company are widely recognised as category leader they are continually innovating and investing in their products and UK manufacturing facility.
As National Account Manager you will inherit a large portfolio of accounts such as B&Q and Homebase. You will develop the accounts and work towards monthly targets. You will be highly visible in the business and afforded the full commitment and investment of the business leaders.
Expectations:
- To achieve set KPI’s within the 3 sectors (to be agreed with the successful candidate) in line with company objectives
- To achieve turnover & profit targets (Full P&L Responsibility)
- To build strong professional relationships which could help leverage key decisions
- To develop a high level understanding of the consumer (by channel)
- To display a willingness to learn and immerse themselves into the DIY category
- To develop and maintain a strong promotional calendar
- To deal with people calmly and rationally.
- To take a positive approach to difficult situations without getting flustered
- To communicate effectively at all levels (Internally & Externally)
- To be creative in their thinking and deliver results
- To possess a strong CAN DO attitude
- To provide regular updates on account activity
- To be personally dissatisfied with average performance and consistently seek to improve this
- To be a self-starter that is comfortable in taking responsibility showing initiative and a sense of ownership
- To create a good first impression and inspire confidence and commitment in others
To be suitable for this role you will ideally be from a DIY / Home Improvement background or have worked in an aligned market such as timber or garden products. You should have a good working knowledge of large multi-million retail accounts and demonstrate a proven track record of developing and increasing turnover. The role will offer future progression along with the ability to earn a good salary and bonus.
