Job description:

We require an articulate English speaking candidate to strengthen our sales team. Your time will be spent developing sales and liaising with existing customers and seeking out new customers in retail and catering, working in person by phone and through email. We are a small, tight knit team so all employees are expected to lend support where and when the business requires. This position is mainly office based.

  • Managing sales to customers as designated by the Manager
  • Proactively contacting customers via telephone to maintain a high level of service, whilst identifying and exploiting opportunities for profitable growth
  • Maintaining and increasing current sales
  • Generating sales to existing and new customers
  • Keeping accurate records
  • Developing and implementing key sales, promotional strategies and joint business plans with customers
  • Negotiating prices
  • Introducing new products
  • Developing new business opportunities
  • Contributing to the overall commercial strategy and growth of the business
  • Running and analysing sales reports to examine areas of potential growth for the business

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent writing skills, telephone manner and amicable personality
  • Sales experience within the fine food sector is beneficial but not essential
  • Experience in telesales is essential with a strong customer focus on outgoing and incoming calls
  • Good understanding of a structured sales cycle
  • Self-motivated, driven, positive and ambitious approach
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience in selling own label products is beneficial but not essential
  • Excellent account management skills
  • Proven track record in developing sales with new and existing accounts with a passion for delivering results and driven to meet and exceed expectations
  • Strong relationship builder
  • Well organised self-starter who is able to efficiently plan work load and journey planning
  • Pro-active and highly self-motivated with strong inter-personal skills and a strong commitment to personal development
  • Professional approach and attitude
  • Dynamic and hungry to succeed
  • Confident and passionate individual
  • Fluent in Italian (beneficial but not essential)
  • Consider graduates with a passion to get into food industry sales

Package

  • Salary: circa £24k per annum (negotiable, depending on experience) + bonus
  • Opportunity to join growing business
  • 20 days’ holiday per annum
