Job Details

Our client is a leading global food manufacturer with a fantastic global vision. We are now looking for an experienced Category Development Manager to join a fast paced and high performing team to look after one of their most important categories. This role would suit an individual from either a Consumer Insights business, Consumer electronics or retail background.

We are looking for a high profile, best in class individual to be responsible for the creation and implementation of the category vision for the category. The aim of the role is to unlock the potential for growth for both the business and their customers. You will do this through using insights and pursue distribution, availability gaps and create the tools to deliver fantastic results.

In addition, you will support innovation development and deployment by gaining a thorough understanding of the needs of customers and shoppers. You will create sell in support material that engages the sales team and the customers. You will interface with the Customer Category teams on key category projects such as range reviews and strategic planning.

To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate a solid career path within Category Management, Consumer or Shopper Insight, Marketing or sales. You will have proven experience in the creation of and implementation of category strategy and knowledge of the UK retail environment. Ideally you will be educated to degree level. You will have excellent communication and project management skills plus the ability to influence other stakeholders at all levels. Knowledge of managing and analysing data from various data sources is also important.
