Due to growth my client is looking for an Area Sales Manager to cover the South East territory. The company are a growing company within the Pet industry

The role is targeting independent retailers and garden centres across the South East of England. As Territory Sales Manager you will inherit an existing account base of around 60-80 live accounts, your main duties will be to grow and develop the existing accounts and also prospect for new business working towards monthly targets. This position is responsible for driving direct sales for a leading pet product manufacturer in the Pet trade.

My client is specifically looking for someone with a strong sales background ideally from within the same product category or a similar product category such as Garden & Leisure. You must be dealing with independent pet retailers and/or garden centres. You could be an Area Sales Manager or Business Development Manager from within the industry looking to join a growing, innovative business with some great products. This person must be reliable, trustworthy with lots of drive and enthusiasm to be successful.

Main Duties:

  • To manage an existing customer list of around 60-80 retailers, varying from Garden Centres to Independent Pet Shops
  • Develop the South East territory by identifying and targeting prospects through cold calling, internet searches, and exhausting the current database.
  • Achieve specific annual sales targets and also NPD targets as requested
  • Produce weekly call reports for the sales manager as requested.
  • Ensure the products are merchandised in the correct way inside the wholesaler and that our products have maximum presence in store.
  • Implement stands/shelving and point of sale material in all customers
