This is an amazing opportunity to join FoodCycle and head up our programmes. Charity experience is not essential, but clearly caring deeply about our cause is. We want to find the person who can help our organisation become more processed-orientated and willing to give whatever it takes to help us double the number of people we want to feed this forthcoming year. 

The Head of Programmes leads on the overall development and management of the Hub teams and the delivery of our services within the community. The HoP will lead, manage and inspire a central team to provide support and motivation to the hub leaders and their volunteers.

This role will be responsible for ensuring the day to day management of the hubs team and the social impact they deliver from ensuring the central team are organised and aligned to the work of the Hubs to making sure all of our guests have a safe, secure and friendly place to dine with us.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. To be the guardian of FoodCycle’s reputation internally and externally.
2. To lead the hubs team and in conjunction with the CEO, the development of FoodCycle’s strategy.
3. To deliver of FoodCycle’s long and short term plans for the hubs and their associated teams.
4. To be accountable for continuously improving social impact and operational efficiencies within the framework of the agreed plans.
5. To support the development of the central and hub leaders team through line management and personal development frameworks.
6. To ensure the hubs team is appropriately organised and staffed to deliver FoodCycle approved long and short term plans.
7. To ensure that expenditure, both capital and revenue, are within the authorised limits of the annual business plan.
8. To assess, monitor and manage critical risks to FoodCycle, and to keep the CEO fully informed of FoodCycle’s risk profile.
9. To ensure effective internal controls and management information systems are in place to allow the FoodCycle team to be as effective as possible.
10. To ensure that FoodCycle maintains high standards of Corporate Citizenship and Social Responsibility wherever it does business.
11. To communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with employees, volunteers and guests.
12. To lead by personal example and encourage all employees to conduct their activities in a similar manner to reflect the values of FoodCycle.
