Senior Buyer – Bristol

£32k + 10% bonus & benefits

We are currently looking to appoint a new Senior Buyer for consumable products to add to our successful Procurement department.  This is an exciting new opportunity for an ambitious Buyer to build a new category within a market leading global distribution business.  We are looking for someone with new ideas who can also utilise the existing experience and knowledge we have within the organisation.

In this role you will report to the Procurement Manager and research and develop a defined consumables product range to complement our existing product offering.  You will achieve competitive advantage through product selection, best source identification and negotiation of terms. 

 

As a Senior Buyer your main responsibilities will be:

  • Proposing, developing and implementing brand strategies in order to develop a suitable product portfolio to support the long term goals of the business
  • Creating an annual business plan to detail the tactical execution of the brand strategy
  • Building and developing relationships with local and global suppliers, whilst monitoring ongoing performance
  • Negotiating and maintaining supplier agreements to minimise potential liabilities whilst maximising supplier performance
  • Analysing competitor activity in relation to product ranges, brand development, presentation to market and pricing structures

 

 

To apply for this role your experience and skills should include:

  • Previous experience from within a Buying role, ideally of buying non-perishable foods
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Developed planning and organisation skills
