£33,500 Basic, Bonus, Car Allowance + Benefits

Our Client is an established and expanding Brewery.

A vacancy exists for a Business Development Manager to cover the London region selling to the On Trade.

The job is to look after a portfolio of accounts in the London area ( mainly pubs but also bars, hotels, restaurants etc ). The accounts comprise leased and managed houses as well as some wholesalers ( On Trade ). The managed houses are J D Weatherspoon’s, M & B, Punch, Enterprise, Greene King and similar. The leased houses can buy what they want so have all the characteristics of a free trade outlet, but the managed houses are all obviously managed by employed individuals and this person will be selling to the managers.

All the deals are done at head office and a large part of this person’s time will be pulling through the ( regularly changing ) listings / promotions. The job holder will have no dealings with the pub group’s head offices, only at branch level, to ensure that stock is in place,  merchandise and place point of sale materials, to take orders, to do tastings, arrange quiz nights and other in house promotions etc. A large part of the job is building relationships with pub managers. The job involves typically one or two evening work each week ( typically 5 pm to 7pm but the job holder can start later on these days so there’s a high degree of flexibility ).

It’s essential that candidates have lots of energy and a real passion for beer! Our Client will genuinely consider candidates with no field sales experience who have this energy and passion eg enthusiastic candidates with lots of sales potential who are interested in Real Ale and maybe work(ed) in a pub will definitely be considered

Location – ideally within the M25, but our client will consider candidates outside of the M25 by about 20 miles in any direction if needs be.
