We have an exciting opportunity to join the NFU’s Food and Farming department due to maternity leave. 
The National Farmers’ Union represents the interests of farmers and growers across England and Wales. 
NFU Sugar is the single entity that represents all sugar beet growers in the UK and negotiates on their collective behalf with the single processor (British Sugar Plc). The NFU performs a crucial role in advising and lobbying policy makers, and influencing legislation on the areas that matter most to beet growers.

About the role

As the NFU’s Senior Adviser (Sugar), you will ensure that all aspects of the UK beet supply contract operate in accordance with the Inter Professional Agreement (IPA). You will work as part of a team providing input and technical expertise for use in commercial negotiation and policy development. 

About You

You will have a background in finance or data analysis and will be comfortable with the review, audit and interpretation of complex information including beet payment statistics and data which supports the annual beet price negotiation. 

You will have the confidence and expertise to defend the industry position.  Intellectually curious, you will relish a challenge and thrive on interpreting detail to the best advantage of UK sugar beet growers.  Easily digesting and interpreting numbers will come as second nature to you.  You will be equally comfortable analysing legislation affecting sugar beet to assess its implications, contributing to briefings on policy, technical and sugar market related issues.‎
