National Account Executive (Foodservice) – Hot Snacks

c£38-40,000 Basic, £45,000 OTE, Company Car + Benefits

Our Client supplies Hot Snacks to the Leisure & HORECA channel.

They are now looking to appoint a high calibre National Account Executive to spearhead further growth with a new product line.

They have just got a listing with Bidvest for a brand new product and they are looking to appoint a high calibre NAE to maximise the potential of the product ( which is substantial ), via the Bidvest account.

The main function of the job will be to work alongside the Bidvest sales team, and support them with the product, and to ensure maximum pull through, now they have a listing.  The job holder will also be asked to look after some smaller wholesale accounts with some existing sales

There’s no need to have dealt with Bidvest Head Office, just the branches only, however it is essential that candidates know the internal workings of Bidvest and how their sales teams work. A large part of the job will be working jointly on End User account acquisition with the Bidvest sales team, so somebody who has existing Bidvest contacts in the area would have a massive advantage. They need somebody who already knows the Bidvest National Account Managers and Regional Account Managers and who can pick up the phone and invite themselves to the local Bidvest sales meeting to make a presentation etc.

The potential via Bidvest is huge, so there’s a sizeable opportunity for someone here. Although the job holder won’t be dealing directly with Bidvest head office, they will attend meetings with the MD and it’s the MD’s intention to train this new person to take over the whole Bidvest account at some stage in the future.

The job holder will spend up to 40% of his/her time drumming up new business with end users, and then passing that business to Bidvest who take care of delivery, and invoicing etc. The function of the job is to both find new end user business as well as building and managing the Bidvest account.

It’s also quite important that candidates have some kind of exposure to either key or national end user accounts. The potential end user channels are listed in order of priority below. Exposure to one of them would be useful, ideally Leisure, but not essential.

. Leisure ( being holiday parks, theme parks, sports clubs, swimming pools, bowling alleys, cinemas, zoos etc ).

. Universities ( and Tuco buying group ), but not schools.

. Garage Forecourts.

. HORECA ( small pub groups / restaurant groups etc ).

. Airlines / Trains / Ferries.

. Traditional Convenience retail ( Nisa, Spar, Premier, Best One, etc ).

Candidates can have sold any food or drink product into the leisure or HORECA channel. They would prefer people from a branded background, even if they have only sold secondary / tertiary brands.

The role is home based in the Midlands, but the job holder will need to be in the office ( South East ) every two to three weeks.

Remuneration – Basic up to £38k ( might stretch to £40k but only for a very exceptional candidate ). Also an excellent commission scheme giving an OTE £45k. There’s also a company car with the position.
