Our client is the UK joint venture of two global leaders in industry, with a multitude of business operations providing services and products to consumers worldwide. The UK JV manufactures and supplies food and FMCG products to a multitude of customers through a network of manufacturing and logistical hubs. With a turnover in the hundreds of millions of pounds, and a real focus on culinary excellence, this business is poised to capitalise on the benefits of bringing two businesses together in a JV, and grow significantly over the coming years.

In order to deliver this growth, they are looking to appoint a Sales and Marketing Director to lead the UK commercial strategy. Reporting to the CEO, and forming a key part of the Senior Leadership Team, this position is crucial in pulling together the UK operations, forming the vision and strategy, building a best in class team and delivering the plan. They require a strong analytical and visionary sales leader, someone who can both identify the opportunities in the market, but then build a strategy in order to capitalise on these opportunities. You will be an inspirational leader with a passion for driving team performance and wining collaboratively, whilst also having solid financial acumen in order to deliver the numbers. It goes without saying that this person must have a full understanding of sales an marketing, and how they integrate together, and also have a thorough understanding of the principles of category management and the use of data in order to formulate sound business decisions.

You will be a high class FMCG operator with classical blue chip training, with a demonstrable track record in the sector, ideally in an international business. You will have had varied career, be sales biased, but with experience gained in a marketing led business, and have experience in building and executing strategy at a group level. You must be able to operate at board level, but at the same time to personable and gain the buy in and trust of your team and the wider business. Finally, you must be able to demonstrate an ability to adapt quickly, operate in a fast paced a flexible style, and have the mental agility to learn new industries, trends or consumer profiles, adjusting the operations in order to meet these changes.
