The Role

National Account Executive.

Working on valuable Retail Accounts, focussing on an exciting private label fmcg portfolio.

Main Job purpose:  To build key manufacturing sales and maintain a high standard of customer relationships with both existing and potential customers with regular face-to-face meetings at head office level and depot level.  Presenting the benefits of trading with us versus competition using the tools provided i.e. product knowledge, service and promotions.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities include:

  • To provide a sales service to meet the needs at a most efficient and cost effective manner for achieving objectives.
  • To build sales with both existing and potential customers by building relationships through regular meetings both face-to-face and by phone
  • A pro-active approach to account management
  • Able to agree and deliver joint business plans in line with supplier objectives
  • Pro-active approach to promotional activation
  • Ability to work in an autonomous role and to own and take responsibility for driving sales in all allocated key accounts.
  • Merchandise fixtures and agree and implement visually brilliant displays
  • To work as part of a team to develop the sales department for the benefit of the organisation as a whole.
  • Responsible for the effective selling of standard and promotional products as specified.
  • To analyse sales figures and produce effective reports and distribute internally.
  • To develop and understand knowledge of competitors and their products and offers to enable us to be able to respond to the changing market place in which it operates.
  • To have an in depth knowledge of product ranges, category data and market data to be able to advise and provide in depth information to customer.
  • Building long-term relationships with customers by understanding their needs and requirements.
  • Managing internal processes to ensure all customer KPI’s are met i.e. service level.
  • Utilising internal services to Maximise customer potential
  • Always seek to ‘Add Value’ to the customer, business and the supplier 
  • Resolution of customer queries on time and in full

The Candidate

  • Commercial experience within FMCG.
  • Ability to agree and deliver joint business plans
  • Positive can do attitude with the ability to self-motivate
  • Powerful networking, Negotiating and Influencing skills
  • Ability to communicate at a variety of different levels
