Customer Marketing & Innovation Controller

Our client is a very successful £100m food business operating across a number of Prepared Fresh/Chill categories including branded and Own Label. Now at a critical stage of development the business is looking to appoint a capable professional with a range of skills within Innovation, Product Development and Marketing.

The role will take overall responsibility for the NPD and Innovations team, collate and communicate consumer and sales data internally and externally forming strategic plans for customer JBP’s that will affect the long term positioning and strategic direction of the business. 

The role

• Developing fit for purpose processes and systems across the NPD, Innovation and Marketing functions.
• Lead and execute consumer insights, trend gathering, and competitive monitoring to identify opportunities for product solution innovation.
• Develop expertise in food trends –Working with the NPD team to develop a portfolio of compelling consumer-centric product concepts
• Work in conjunction with the Commercial team to become the leader in category ranging, pricing and promotions across all channels
• Drive category relationships with key retailer contacts within NPD & Customer Marketing
• Work in conjunction with the Commercial team to build yearly JBP’s category/channel strategies, robust promotional strategies and KPI’s
• Manage insight and market intelligence agencies, build strong relationships with key account handlers
• Management and development of the NPD team
• Management and tracking of the Customer marketing/NPD budget
• Development of the companies brands, working closely with the New Business Development Manager

You

• Will have at least 4- 5 years food experience in Marketing and Customer Insight within an FMCG environment.
• Experience of operating within the major retail sector
• Skills in developing and maintaining new business opportunities.
• Experience of commercial team work, and working across a multi-sited business.
• Evidence of success through multi-functional teamwork.
• Knowledge and insight of the Food industry and the major customers.
• Networking skills at all levels.
