National Account Manager – Confectionary – Wholesale Accounts

Due to their continued growth our client, one of the UK’s most iconic confectionary brands, have a requirement for a National Account Manager to join their team and take responsibility for their wholesale portfolio. 

Established in 1928, Swizzels Matlow are one of the UK’s best loved confectionary manufacturers, well known for Love Hearts, Squashies, New Refreshers, Double Lollies, Rainbow Drops, Drumsticks, Parma Violets and Double Dips.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced National Account Manager / Senior National Account Manager to assume responsibility for Swizzels Matlow’s major Delivered Wholesale customers. 

Role / Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage strong relationships with existing and new clients
  • Agree / Negotiate sales prices and product ranges
  • Promote new products
  • Maximising sales and profit growth across all managed accounts
  • Drive sales whilst managing cost against budget 
  • Work with the NPD team to ensure all new lines have a maximum impact on launch

The Individual:

  • Solid experience in sales and negotiation within Food / FMCG environment
  • Demonstrate a strong record of managing key wholesalers within a food business
  • Experience of working with Cash and Carry customers
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Confident, Motivated and determined to achieve goals  
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Capable of interpreting and delivering on business objectives
  • Experience of developing in-depth knowledge about products and services

You will be a strong National Account Manager from a food / FMCG manufacturing background with a proven track record of achievement in the Wholesale / Cash and Carry sector.
