Account Manager - Essex

The company:

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading supplier of fruit who procure from all continents around the world. They pride themselves on being able to bring the finest quality produce to their customers which consist of major supermarkets, foodservice and wholesale businesses.

Due to continued growth they are now looking to source an ambitious and experienced Account Manager to work within the top fruit category. This will be a customer facing role managing an account with a very lucrative supermarket customer.

The role:

Reporting into the Commercial Manager your role will involve but not be limited to;

  • To manage the customer account for top fruit
  • To support the commercial manager in developing the overall business plan for the customer
  • To category manage the account including category marketing plans and execution, seasonal events, range analysis, promotions and reviews of all the aforementioned
  • To gain a comprehensive working knowledge of pricing parameters and seasonality for all product ranges and varieties
  • To complete and deliver any ad hoc projects or information requests for the customer
  • To deliver budgeted sales and volume growth, maintaining supply service levels and meeting customer expectations
  • To liaise with customer supply chain teams involved in sales activity functions and processes
  • Manage sales delivery and meet volume growth expectations
  • To liaise with customers to ensure fulfilment of the highest levels of customer service and delivery service levels
  • To professionally represent the company at customer and industry events

The person:

  • Account management experience within the Fresh Produce Industry and seasonal produce knowledge is essential
  • Receptiveness to change within a fast moving industry
  • High standard of written and spoken English
  • Demonstration of strong and confident interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external personnel at all levels
  • Able to work within a team 
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload
  • Proven Time management skills: accustomed to working with and meeting deadlines
  • Data inputting and analysis skills. accustomed to working with and interpreting data
  • Resilient. Accustomed to problem solving
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point software applications and Microsoft Outlook. 
  • Experience of using market data systems e.g. Kantar / Nielsen would be advantageous
