Our client is twenty-five years strong in the wine trade up North, and have recently begun establishing themselves in the London market. They are truly passionate about wine and currently import wine from over twelve different countries into the UK – from boutique, family run wineries to large, modern vineyards. This company prides themselves on their award winning portfolio which offers wines of high quality, depth and character for their likewise diverse range of customers. Their personal understanding of each customer allows them to meet the ever changing consumer demand of the UK wine market – this has lead them to have the reputation amongst buyers of being the company that can source specific blends or varietals from almost anywhere in the world!

As a Territory Sales Manager, your role will involve developing business in the off trade, and more specifically, the independent retail sector within London. There will be some existing accounts that need to be managed but this role is heavily weighted on new establishing new business. Though the focus is in the off trade, there will be some selling into the on trade as well. Although this company is well established within the UK, the London focus is new – this is an expansion hire. You will have the mentorship and support of a London based Sales Manager who you will report into, and you will be field based, so a valid UK Driver’s License is required for this role.

As a successful candidate, you will have one or more years of experience in wine field sales within London, preferably including or focused on the off trade. You will have an entrepreneurial flair and be excited about taking ownership of the expansion of this company into the London market. You must have wine knowledge and ideally have your WSET Level 2 or higher. Passion for the story behind the wine you sell is essential – the independent retail sector is focused on the “hand sell” so passion for the portfolio will make you successful in this sector above a brand selling focus.
