PepsiCo is on the look-out for an Assistant Consumer Insights Manager to join the team based at our head office in Reading, Berkshire.

We're looking for an Assistant Consumer Insights Manager for our West Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa (WESA) Nutrition business. The role reports to the Senior Consumer Insights Manager - Grains and has significant interaction with Brand, Innovation, Communication, Activation, Commercialization and R&D Teams as well as the 2 main Business Units (UK & Holland) and the Global team based in Chicago.

The team will have a singular focus on the most critical challenges and growth opportunities for the company and relentlessly advocate the best actions to improve probability of success.

What you'll get up to:
  • Act as an integral partner to marketing teams by providing insight that helps shape and impact portfolio, brand, communication and innovation strategies, plans and activities
  • Accurate and efficient set up, implementation and delivery of a wide spectrum of ad hoc consumer research and insights projects
  • Develop strong working partnerships with both internal stakeholders and external agencies
  • Ensure each innovation project has a clear research plan, with steps aligned to the Gate process, clear objectives and action standards for each step.
  • Conduct research related to multi-market NPD - BASES Snapshots, Home Use Tests, Packaging Tests, Communication tests etc. Ensure each study has clear action standards, clear interpretation and recommendations/next steps.
  • Ensure all consumer and market knowledge is distilled into clear, actionable summaries and implications and is communicated widely, frequently and persuasively.
  • Support Insight team in extracting maximum value from and embedding the fundamental research (Brand Equity, Demand Spaces etc analysis) within the business
  • Support the systematic embedding of Best Practice techniques, tools and methodologies - master and champion within the insights team and beyond


What we are looking for:
  • Experience across a number of different best practice brand building insight techniques - qual (preferable) and quant (essential), ad hoc (immersions, brand positioning, idea, concept, product, pricing, packaging, advertising, STM's, Segmentation)
  • A genuine passion for Insights, coupled with a strong desire to learn, progress and grow within the broad Western Europe Insights team
  • Preferably very strong agency side ad hoc research/insights experience (i.e. quant questionnaire design, project and stakeholder management, data literacy, etc), having demonstrated fast progression and looking for client side insight role
  • Very strong attention to detail, excellent project management skills and a real passion for driving efficiency through better process
  • Educated to degree level
  • Balance research best practice and a strong commercial perspective to achieve both high quality and maximum value
  • Ability to translate a plan in to reality - a real completer-finisher
  • Able to synthesise and integrate learning from multiple sources and see the connections in data, trends, events etc to generate insights
  • Ability to convert complexity into simplicity, emphasising the broad picture and picking out key detail
  • Ability to combine data, judgement and experience to make effective decisions in complex situations and when there is a lot of uncertainty or ambiguity.
  • Strong listening and influencing, actively seeks and understands the input of others to gain broad alignment to ideas. Communicates direction and influences decision making to move teams towards a common goal
  • Ability to navigate in a broad environment composed of Business units, Europe categories and Global team, and work with people from different cultures.
