Key Account Manager - Sainsbury's

At Arla, we do so much more than make some of the world's favourite dairy products. We make healthy taste delicious, mornings worth getting up for and family dinners unforgettable. Cravendale®, Anchor®, Lurpak® and Tickler® - names like these make us a vital, natural part of modern life in over 100 countries around the world. We are 4,000 UK and 19,000 global employees at the heart of it. Every single one of us plays an important role and together we build on our 10bn Euros turnover and establish our position as one of the largest dairy companies in the world.

An opportunity now exists for a talented and ambitious Key Account Manager to join our UK business and execute an ambitious growth strategy for one of our key customers.

The role will be responsible for driving the growth of both branded and own label products within the account. Drawing upon customer, market and category insight, focus will be on developing strong selling stories and utilising strong commercial and relationship skills to create mutual growth for Arla's business with Sainsbury's.

Responsibilities will include developing and reviewing performance on joint business plans, implementing promotional plans and identifying new business opportunities. You will work closely with the Category Management team in developing winning channel and category plans in a fast changing retail environment. Being the link between Arla and Sainsbury's you are also responsible for developing strategic partnerships with key customer contacts as well as internal Arla stakeholders within the Commercial and Supply Chain functions.

Key skills required for success include a thorough understanding of the changing retail market and strong commercial awareness. The ability to use data and insight to develop robust and convincing category and channel plans is also key along with the ability to develop strong and lasting relationships.

As an established FMCG sales or category professional you will hold a good commercially orientated degree with previous top 6 retail account management experience. Being highly numerate, you will have a deep understanding of category management principles whilst being able to demonstrate the use of multiple data streams in order to provide actionable insight. With the ability to manage and develop strategic partnerships, your communication and networking skills will be second to none. You are passionate about doing business and are a strong negotiator.

The commercial team is based in Leeds however we are interested in suitable applications from candidates based in commutable distance from our head office and customer.

In return you can expect a competitive salary and benefits package and the opportunity to work for a forward thinking, progressive organisation that recognises and rewards talent.
