Chief Executive

British Poultry Council

The British Poultry Council (BPC), the voice of the British poultry meat sector, is the trade association for producers across all parts of the supply chain.

The council plays a vital role in advocating the benefits of the sector to UK agriculture and food production ensuring these are recognised by relevant political, economic and industry organisations.

Reporting to the BPC Industry Board, you will be responsible for promoting and protecting the interests of the poultry sector by developing and implementing a clear strategy for the sector while taking overall responsibility for managing the financial and corporate affairs of the BPC and its team of employees.

As well as overall strategy and governance your key responsibilities will include developing relationships with key stakeholders, representing the industry on relevant economic and business groups and acting as media spokesperson on issues impacting on the poultry sector.

You will be an excellent leader and advocate with a proven track record of success in representing industry effectively across government, industry and consumer networks.

Relevant media and communication skills are essential, and while previous experience of the sector is not a prerequisite, you must demonstrate you can quickly grasp the essentials of the industry and represent them externally with authority and credibility.
