Our client is the brand leader in the UK within the categories that they operate in and their name will be instantly recognisable to you!

We are now looking for an energetic Trade Marketing Manager who can lead the marketing and category development for this business. As Trade Marketing Manager, you will create targeted marketing programmes for customers to win new customers and engage with existing ones. NPD and Category are two other important aspects to the role but overall your aim is to create greater consumer and retailer awareness for their product.

This role requires an individual who is really going to grasp this opportunity and run with it. We are looking for someone to roll their sleeves up and get into the bones of the business to make recommendations that are backed up with insight and great category argument. Cross functional relationships both internally and externally are important.

The Role:

  • Ensure that each category is driven by clearly defined strategies backed up by solid consumer and shopper insight.
  • Business strategy is translated to channel and customer plans.
  • Define and manage the NPD plans.
  • Maximise the customer trade budgets to achieve the best ROI.
  • Control of the marketing budget.
  • Create the consumer communication plan and manage the implementation.
  • Work cross functionally with sales to build relationships.
  • Present to customers / retailers as required.
  • Review the business to determine new opportunities for growth.

The Individual:

  • A marketing background gained within a fast paced FMCG food manufacturing background.
  • Educated to degree level and ideally with a CIM qualification.
  • Experience of the full marketing mix.
  • Knowledge of the UK retailer landscape.
  • A strategic thinker who can translate that into action.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Some experience of Category Management.
  • A team player who operates with energy, drive and pace.
