£45,816 to £56,200 Basic with a bonus and company car + Benefits

Our client already has an enviable portfolio of major retail customers including top four and High Street retailers, as well as having a strong presence in the convenience / discount channel. This particular role is to take on the management of a number of high profile ( top four / Grocery ) accounts as well as to develop relationships and business opportunities with a number of other potential major retail customers. Although not essential, an exposure to Waitrose and / or M & S would be an advantage ( in addition to top four experience ). The company manufacture both own label and branded cheeses and yoghurts, with a substantial commitment to expand both of these opportunities in the relevant market places. We can consider applications from candidates from either a branded or an own label background however you should at the very least understand the mechanics of brands and brand equity. You should also be comfortable discussing NPD with the retailers own development team, which will clearly relate specifically to the own label products.

This is a home base role, however you would be required to attend meetings in head office ( near Birmingham ) approximately once every week.

We are looking for an accomplished commercial operator here, so we have been briefed to extend our search to candidates across all FMCG categories. There would be a slight advantage if you had at least some experience of either cheese, yoghurt or other dairy products, but this is by no means a deal breaker. We are looking specifically for strong commercial acumen along with a strong understanding of the UK major retail / Grocery channel. Commercial savvy is very much more important than product experience !
