Head of New Product Development
 
Can you demonstrate a real passion for NPD? Are you keen to head a new division? Does a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment excite you? Due to recent investment and a substantial period of growth, a renowned branded FMCG business are looking to hire a Head of New Product Development into a newly created role.  

You will ensure that the NPD pipeline & activity is underpinned by market-leading creativity and sound commercial efficiencies. Close relationships with the commercial team and customers’ must be built to ensure that this pipeline is commercially sound. As such, building lasting relationships with both your team and other stakeholders will be the key to providing success for the business.

The Person:
You will have had experience of leading an NPD team as a current Head of NPD or as a senior team-leader. You will have a broad understanding of the FMCG marketplace and a deep understanding of the impacts of this on the product pipeline and factory operation. You will be an adept relationship builder across different stakeholder groups and will be able to provide convincing and astute recommendations based on this knowledge.

Requirements:

•    BSc / MSc / PhD in Food Science, Food Engineering or Chemistry
•    10+ years in R&D, Innovation or NPD function
•    Proven analytical and detail oriented mindset  
•    Role requires the employee to have a sense of urgency, team -player, ability to multitask, organize, and interact with key players in a interdepartmental team environment.
•    Self- starter  with strong internal drive to succeed that can question/challenge information being given, identify gaps and areas for improvements

Reporting to the Global VP, New Product Development and working alongside a team of 2. Key responsibilities will include:

•    Establishing and maintaining timelines for new product launches based on EMEA Business Development launch calendar. 
•    Comprehending challenges and thereby connecting with the stakeholders to keep projects from stalling. 
•    Participating in weekly calls with NPD corporate staff for updates and coordination of actionable items regarding: regulatory, formulas, graphics, SAP. 
•    Communicate progress and flag commercial support regarding NPD efforts with Sales development regarding timelines by understanding the critical path of the project at hand. 
•    Project managing the set-up of new ingredients according to commercialization timeline, working with corporate NPD and local supply teams to ensure that local commercialization timelines and priorities are met.  
•    Supporting Corporate Quality Control and NPD corporate with relevant information to create Master Formulas and mixing instructions by organizing, and understanding information provided by TCCC technical and the CPS organization.
•    Participating in reformulation projects with local Quality control teams, co-packer and corporate NPD related to technical performance of formulation.
