We’re looking for people to join our dependable Supermarkets & Convenience team, which is the wholesale dry grocery and fresh foods arm of our business.  It has the important role of supplying product for our brands and distributors, along with support for ranging, retail operations, merchandising and marketing.

About the role:

We are looking for Category Managers / Senior Buyers across the Food and Grocery and Private label channels. Join us at Metcash Australia, where you’ll live in one of the most spectacular cities in the world - Sydney.

Metcash Category Managers are responsible for the strategic direction of their Category which includes the development, negotiation and implementation of these strategies.

About you:

• A successful Senior Buyer in the Food or Grocery channels working for a leading retailer
• Proven track record working with complex environments, driving promotional strategies and managing a variety of categories
• Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers and senior stakeholders
• Highly innovative, relationship driven and results focused manager with experience in transformational environments
• Strong sense of personal accountability
• Understanding of the independent retail landscape is desirable but not essential
