Business Unit Controller

Our client is a leading food business based in Scotland and operating across the UK and also internationally. As one of the leading manufacturers within their category, they supply all of the major retailers as well as a growing presence in food service, convenience and also a number of export markets. They are currently going through an impressive period of growth and are looking to further develop the sales team with appointment of an experienced and highly commercial individual who can take ownership of a number of their growing channels including their growing export business. The role reports to the Sales Director and offers someone a huge opportunity to make an impact within this major PLC.

This role will take full responsibility for developing a robust strategy for the businesses growth across a customer base that are recently established and showing strong signs of development as well as looking to grow some of their more established channels. A fantastic opportunity to take full ownership of your business areas as you will take on responsibility for the full P&L of the account base and also manage a growing team of Business Managers.  

You will report to the Sales Director and must be able to demonstrate an excellent commercial background within the food & drink sector and be comfortable applying that across a number of different sales channels. This offers an attractive mix of managing and developing a team, working on a number of established customer accounts as well as giving you the chance to impact positively through new business wins in some of their newly established customers. What is key is someone who can bring a strong commercial background that can be applied to a range of sales channels and also will relish working in a fast moving food business. This role will suit an ambitious individual looking to make the step up from a senior national account role or a senior sales professional looking to make a step into a major food business that operates from a Scottish head office.
