Business Development Manager

COMAG 

Field based role - minimum requirement of two days a week in the West Drayton office

Frequent travelling required. 
 
Route 2 retail is a wholly owned subsidiary of COMAG, the UK’s leading magazine marketing and distribution company supplying magazines and books to a growing range of niche and specialist multiple and Independent retailers.

We supply over 1000 stores nationwide which range from garden centres, farm shops, DIY stores, sports and hobby retailers, specialist book shops, galleries, museums and many more. 
 
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager with responsibility for developing our existing multiple and Independent customers and for driving new business.
 
Key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Manage and develop existing retailer relationships 
  • Create, implement and monitor measurable business plans 
  • Undertake regular business and range reviews
  • Generate new business through targeted prospecting 
  • Develop appropriate promotional strategies in conjunction with Publisher client teams 
  • Analyse results of activities and communicate learnings
  • Manage relationships with Publisher account facing teams and selected key publisher clients

The ideal candidate will: 

  • Be experienced managing relationships with a range of Multiple and Independent retailers
  • Have experience selling to Multiple and Independent retailers
  • Proven experience of retailer buying environment or FMCG markets
  • Confident in presenting 
  • Be highly motivated with excellent communication skills 
  • Have a high level of commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Have a great track record in winning new business.
  • Be a team player with excellent relationship management skills
  • Be results orientated; focused on planning and delivery
  • Have demonstrable analytical skills and a level of attention to detail
