The company:

If you are an experienced National Account Manager this maybe the opportunity that you have been looking for, my client is one of the largest manufacturers of health & beauty and skin care products in the UK, who are now looking for a new National Account Manager/Senior National Account Manager to join their team to cover a maternity contract over a 12 month period. They provide a unique and bespoke service to their customers which assists them in being one of the biggest health & beauty brands in the world.

The role:

You will be reporting directly into the Country Manager and you will be responsible for several national accounts. These include the likes of: The John Lewis Partnership, Waitrose, Ocado and Harrods amongst others. This is a London based role with the majority of your time spent managing your account base and developing these client relationships.

You will be responsible for range planning, agreeing pricing, JBP's, ensuring that all marketing and promotional activity is conducted effectively. You will build relationships within your accounts at all levels from Junior Buyers and Merchandisers through to Board level. You will be looking after sales of approximately £2 million per annum.

Key responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of the account specific business plans.
  • Providing account leadership and working cross-functionally with internal departments such as: marketing, finance, customer service and supply chain.
  • Development of account strategies in accordance with overall channel strategy, account goals and business plans together with the key customers.
  • Must conduct regular reviews of business performance, promotion strategies, planograms and product assortment.
  • Forecasting, budgeting and tracking of account revenues, costs and inventory.
  • Partnering with the Trade Marketing Manager to develop account specific marketing plans.
  • Cross-functionally working with both the customer service and supply chain departments to ensure cost effective, accurate and timely supply chain programs to deliver the best in class service to key customers.
  • Maintenance of the highest level of confidentiality; housekeeping; and ensuring that personal behaviour and attitude reflects the essence of the brand and the core values of the organisation.

The person:

The right person for this role will have energy, flair, determination and a passion for what they do. You will be experienced in selling into high street retail accounts and department stores within the health & beauty or skin care industry. You will have looked after an account base turning over in excess of at least £2 million in the UK and have a bachelor’s degree or proven experience of managing national accounts previously. Ideally you will have a background in one of the above sectors as a Key Account Manager, National Account Manager or Senior National Account Manager.
