£60,000 + 20% Bonus + Benefits + car / car allowance

The Company: A successful International retailer and wholesaler with a major department specialising in developing short term buying opportunities on an international basis. The department maintains and develops third party supplier relationships i.e. the “Grey Market”. They also manage supplier post promotional investment buying opportunities.
To maintain the commercial advantages that this department provides they require a buying controller to lead and develop a team of four traders- buyers.
Specialising in areas: 1.Health and Beauty 2. DIY, Hardware and Gifting 3. Over the Counter Medicines (OTC), 4. Parallel Imports of licenced medicines and surgical products - On a smaller scale but with opportunities to grow.
The role

• Develop and implement a strategy to ensure strong relationships are maintained with Manufacturers and wholesaler disposing of excess stocks.
• Have the buyers eye for a short term gain
• Internally work closely with the retail and wholesale division to ensure profitable sell through.
• Coach and motivate your team
• Effectively control the warehouse stock holding and logistics



About You
Ideal candidates:

• Will have a thorough and professional approach to buying and will be able to demonstrate and have experience of grey market buying across any retail type products
• Have a true commercial understanding of how successful trading can improve profitability.
• Will build strong relationships internally and externally
• Recognise that price is important but quality and product confidence is also part of the buyer’s success
• Will understand seasonal purchasing
